Lisa Delan’s poetry and prose have been featured in a broad range of literary publications, and she has received two Pushcart Prize nominations. A number of prominent contemporary composers have set her poems to music for solo voice and piano, and a choral work based on her libretto premiered this year in her adopted home town of San Francisco
Not sure about that last line. But I'm relieved to find myself not breaking out in the psychic rash I sometimes experience around anything resembling prose poetry. The dialogue with your Dad is refreshing, almost a subgenre of its own, and despite the conversational format, elements of your proven lyricism are apparent. This could, perhaps if extended, work as a short-form dramatic monologue. In any case, I'd love to hear it delivered in your voice.
