Not sure about that last line. But I'm relieved to find myself not breaking out in the psychic rash I sometimes experience around anything resembling prose poetry. The dialogue with your Dad is refreshing, almost a subgenre of its own, and despite the conversational format, elements of your proven lyricism are apparent. This could, perhaps if extended, work as a short-form dramatic monologue. In any case, I'd love to hear it delivered in your voice.
