GLIA by Louise Mather

chrysalids out of dusk
woven, fragile
in astrocytes & debris
kinesis, electric jawed
adhesions to stars
sharp, without rest
corrosion, undulating
far from sea breaking
willowy rain, leftover
from war or birth
bullets, oars, axons
palatable luck of bramble
as if you want
the pain, all of it
& mine too much
