ASMR Mukbang by Anna Sinn

Hunger-buzzed outside of myself

I watch my body

zombie-walking supermarket aisles

eyes scoffing at pastries

thick in my mouth

as the pretty American girl opens her mouth

around fat cookies as big as her fist

swallows inside my ears.

ASMR mukbang is the new appetite suppressant.

Experience the sorcery of filling up

on an empty stomach.

Listen to these mouth sounds

tingle down the spine

like popping candy

acrylics tap tapping across my brain

little scratches lighting up an itch

a scab to dig right into

scoop clean as the honeycomb

that coats her lips deliciously

my mouth salivating around nothing.

God, I have found my new religion

and don’t be offended when I say

I have never felt closer to transcendence

than the throat clenching

tongue buzzing anticipation

of opening my hoarded stash

of saved videos to binge

in a scrolling sugar rush

feast for the eyes

like a black hole insatiably inhaling

nutella candy lips chew tingles

mochi swallow ice cream candied fruit

drool crumble tingles open

cake mouth full eyes

overflowing more more more

so many mouths

swallowing for me

and I can eat the whole world

and never be full.

I lack nothing.
